Equipping the Faith Community to accelerate relief and recovery.

The Faith Community often wants to help, but knowing what to do, how to do it, when to do it, and having the right tools, knowledge, skills, and leadership while caring for the individual, family, or community as the number one priority is overwhelming. GC-DR walks alongside the Faith Community on blue sky days, helping them prepare for disasters (grey sky days). GC-DR trains on how to respond to disasters while extending compassion for the survivors.

We define resilience as the ability to recover after a disaster. Unfortunately, most individuals, families, and communities never fully recover from a disaster. Disasters are, by their nature, overwhelming. If they weren’t, we’d call them inconveniences.

Scope

Gulf Coast Disaster Readiness serves individuals, families, and communities in Brazoria, Chambers, Fort Bend, Galveston, Hardin, Harris, Jefferson, Liberty, Montgomery, Orange, San Jacinto, and Waller Counties.
